Sweet, bold, and dangerously good, this iced caramel latte is your ultimate afternoon treat. Featuring a rich espresso kick, our Caramel Latte sachet, and homemade caramel sauce, it's as indulgent as it is easy to make.
INGREDIENTS
Caramel:
- 1 cup sugar
- 6tbs butter
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1tsp salt
(This will make extra!)
OR
- Sugar free caramel syrup to taste
Coffee:
- 2 handfuls of ice
- 250ml milk
- 2 tbsp caramel sauce + extra for decoration if desired
- 1 shot espresso
- 1x Caramel Latte sachet
- 1/2 cup boiling water
METHOD
Caramel:
1. Add sugar to a saucepan, over a medium heat. Stir continuously until clumps form and the sugar begins to melt.
2. Once the sugar has melted, turn heat to low and add butter. Stir continuously until butter has melted.
3. Slowly add cream to the butter and sugar mixture, stir continuously.
4. On a high heat, let the mixture boil for for approximately 1 minute (do not stir).
5. Remove from heat and stir in the salt, allow to cool completely.
Coffee:
1. In a glass, mix the Caramel Latte sachet with boiling water until completely dissolved, add caramel sauce and milk, mix until combined (ideally with a girthy whisk)
2. In a separate glass, swirl with caramel sauce (this is optional but highly recommended)
3. Fill the caramel decorated glass with ice (the more the better), and pour the Caramel Latte mixture over the top
4. Prepare a shot of espresso of your choosing (espresso machine, pod machine etc)
5. Pour the shot of espresso over the Iced Latte
6. Stir to combine the espresso, sip and enjoy!
